Sarna brothers got big setback in the Sikh politics of Delhi when their old associate and Senior Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) member Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Gatka Master joined Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi state in the presence of DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka and General Secretary Jagdip Singh Kahlon.
President of the Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi State MPS Chadha immediately announced him as party’s Senior Vice President.
Welcoming him in the party, Kalka and Kahlon said that jathedar Gurcharan Singh is a big name in Sikh politics of Delhi, has a distinguished identity and there may be not a single Sikh home in the National Capital who might not be aware of Jathedar Gurcharan Singh. They said that he has taught Gatka to hundreds of youth in the National Capital and he is continuously getting elected DSGMC member since formation of DSGMC in 1974.
On the occasion Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Gatka Master said that Sarna brothers were taking important decisions of the party without consulting him or any other senior member of the party, thus he decided to join Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi State.
Kalka and Kahlon said that Jathedar Gurcharan Singh has lauded works done by DSGMC with the cooperation of the Sangat. They said that his nature was also to work by taking along people and we are also doing the same. They said that he had worked as a pillar in the party of Sarnas but they did not bothered to respect him so he had decided to part ways and join them.
On the occasion party President MPS Chadha announced to make Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Gatka Master as Senior Vice President of the party and said that party will get strengthened with joining.
On the occasion party’s Patron Harwinder Singh KP, DSGMC office bearers and members were present besides other leaders of the party.
