Chandigarh/Gurdaspur, May 24, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday campaigned for the AAP’s Gurdaspur candidate Amansher Singh Shery Kalsi and held a massive road through the various constituencies of the Lok Sabha seat.
He covered Dera Baba Nanak, Fatehgarh Churian and Batala and addressed the massive crowds in Kalanaur, Baba Lal Chawnk and Gandhi Chawnk of Batala respectively.
During the Dera Baba Nanak road show, Mann addressed a gathering in Kalanaur and said Kalanaur is a historic town, Akbar was crowned here. He was a good king who followed Din-e-alahi where people of all religions had a voice in his court. Mann said that the people of Kalanaur are ready to write some new history this time.
He said, defeat those who think they cannot be defeated, who doubt the power of common people in democracy. Mann added that others see that Kalanaur is last, but from where I see it, it is the first, it deserves priority and after June 4th I am going to give top priority to all development projects of Kalanaur and Dera Baba Nanak constituency.
Attacking the Congress candidate Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Mann said that he is collecting all the papers and files against all these corrupt leaders. He said that when these people are out of the field, he will make sure they are out for good.
He said that these people looted the rights of the three generations of Punjab. They forced the future of our children towards darkness, they ruined our youth and destroyed the lives of our elders.
Mann advised the people to never vote for anyone who says it is their last election. They don’t care, they have nothing to lose so they do not work for the common people. He said that Shery Kalsi is young, capable and spirited.
Next he targeted BJP MP Sunny Deol, who after winning the Gurdaspur seat, never returned among the people and completely abandoned the constituency. He said that every time people use handpump in Gurdaspur, they curse Sunny Deol, he was uprooting hand pumps on the other side of the border but he didn’t have time for the people of Gurdaspur.
Mann said that those born with silver spoons in their mouths can never understand the pain and hardships of the common people. He said that we are like you, one of you, we come from villages, common families and we have come from fields.
We have lived through hardships and poverty. I have worked hard for everything and now I am working for you, for Punjab and for the future of your children.
Mann said that he understands the problems of the farmers, that is why he instructed that the farmers should get 11 hours of uninterrupted electricity for irrigation during the daytime.
He said that he is ensuring canal water to every corner of Punjab, even the tail-ends. He said that the electricity board and infrastructure is the same, the water availability is the same, then how he was able to make it possible and not the previous governments. He said that the difference is clear intentions and understanding of the situation.
Mann also took a dig at Sukhbir Badal and said that Shiromani Akali Dal Badal is finished in Punjab. Sukhbir Badal gets out for a few hours only, he has a jeep with a roof.
But, no one comes to his roadshows. No one wants to listen to him. Mann also shared Kikli 2 with the people of Gurdaspur. Mann said that even trees have new leaves every season so the people of Gurdaspur should opt for a new and fresh face.
Mann to the people of Fatehgarh Churian: Are you ready to write the history? Are you ready to press the ‘jharoo’ button? Are you ready to oust the looters of Punjab?
Addressing the crowd in Fatehgarh Churian, Mann asked the people that are they ready to write new history, make the AAP win and oust the looters of Punjab. The people responded with a loud yes and cheers. He said that this love and support is his strength.
He asked the people to press the button of ‘jharoo’ on June 1st and said that after that their responsibility will be completed and then everything will be responsibility of Shery Kalsi who is young and capable leader.
Mann said that because of the corrupt leaders, the constituency of Fatehgarh Churian fell behind. It needs attention and honest representatives. He said that the he gave 43,000 government jobs without any bribe or recommendation.
He said that the intentions should be clear then everything is possible. Baba Nanak started Langar with just Rs 20 and it is still going. From the crowd a thrilled father shared that his son just got selected as police inspector and thanked CM Mann.
Mann said that people have tested Akali, Congress and the BJP, now it is the time for change. He thanked the people for their overwhelming response during the roadshow and coming out of their houses in scorching heat. He urged the people to vote for the AAP candidate Amansher Singh Shery Kalsi.

Addressing the people in Batala, Mann thanked the people for their support and also applauded the Gurdaspur team and AAP workers for their hard work, said your hard work will bear sweet fruits. He said that you’d elected Bombay wala last time, this time send your own son Shery Kalsi to the parliament.
Mann added that they have been in government for just two years and the oppositions are so disturb, imagine their condition after 4 years. He thanked the people for such warm welcome and their support. He said that this time it is the storm of the AAP, ‘Punjab Banega Hero, iss vaar 13-0’.
