JIT Chairman Ahluwalia distributes 3000 Masks, 54 PPE kits to Sanitary Workers & Sewermen

In a noble initiative aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the Sanitary workers and seweragemen deployed on frontline duty amongst the Covid 19 pandemic, the Chairman of Jalandhar Improvement Trust Mr. Daljit Singh Ahluwalia today distributed 3000 masks and 54 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits to the sanitary workers and Sewerage men.

Handing over 2500 masks and 40 PPE kits for Sanitary workers to President of Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation Mr. Chandan Grewal and 500 masks and 14 PPE kits for Seweragemen to President of Punjab Seweragemen Union Mr. Pawan Baba, the Chairman, accompanied by his son and youth Congress leader Mr. Kaku Ahluwalia, said that the entire society was indebted to these Covid warriors who were performing their duty diligently without any fear.

He said that in consonance with the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Local Bodies Minister Mr. Brahm Mohindra, the Jalandhar Improvement Trust has considered it as their moral responsibility to ensure that the security of these frontline soldiers, for which the masks and kits were distributed.

Mr. Ahluwalia said that the masks were for the sanitary workers and seweragemen who were on general duty in the city whereas the PPE kits were for those who render their services in and around containment zones of the city.

The Chairman said that Sanitary Workers have hitherto displayed exemplary commitment for their duty during these testing times which was unparalleled. Mr. Ahluwalia said that entire society in general and he himself in particular was indebted to ‘soldiers of cleanliness’ for this noble cause. He also said that these masks and PPE kits were a humble initiative by the Jalandhar Imporvment Trust to ensure the safety of these Covid Warriors.

The Chairman categorically said that the society could never repay the valuable service being rendered by these brave-hearts. He assured the Presidents of sanitary workers and seweragemen that the trust was with them in this hour of crisis and their every requirement would be taken care off.

On the occasion Executive Officer of Jalandhar Improvement Trust Mr. Jatinder Singh, Mr. Kaku Ahluwalia, Mr. Bantu Sabharwal, Mr. Vinod Maddi, Mr. Raju Karan Thapar, Mr. Rimpi Kalyan, Mr. Sunil Dutt Bobby, Mr. Ashok, Chaudhary Tarsem Lal, Mr. Babu Thapar and others were also present.
