Jalandhar Police Busts Major Cyber Fraud Gang; Recovers Rs.24 Lakh, Multiple Devices in Hotel Raid

In a significant crackdown on cybercrime, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, under the direction of Commissioner of Police IPS Dhanpreet Kaur, has successfully apprehended three individuals involved in a large-scale cyber fraud operation.

The police operation resulted in the recovery of ₹24 lakh in cash, 14 mobile phones, one laptop, 19 bank passbooks, and 43 ATM cards from the possession of the accused.

Providing details of the operation, CP Jalandhar stated that the Police Station Navi Baradari received crucial intelligence regarding the presence of a cyber fraud gang operating from Hotel M-1 in Jalandhar. Acting swiftly on this information, a dedicated police team conducted a targeted raid on the hotel premises, leading to the successful apprehension of the three suspects.

The arrested individuals have been identified as: Varun Anchal, son of Tarlok Chand, residing in Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, Jalandhar; Anil, son of Brij Mohan, residing in Madhuban Colony, Jalandhar; and Dudhagara Rimpal, son of Vallabh Bhai, residing in Morbi Road, Rajkot, Gujarat.

During the subsequent search, law enforcement officials seized a substantial amount of evidence, including ₹24 lakh in Indian currency, 14 mobile phones, one laptop computer, 19 bank passbooks issued under various names, and 43 ATM cards believed to have been instrumental in their fraudulent activities.

Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur informed that the arrested accused were presented before the Hon’ble Court, and the police have been granted a three-day remand for in-depth interrogation. Investigations are currently underway to thoroughly trace the entire network involved in this cyber fraud operation, both upstream and downstream.

CP Jalandhar reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Commissionerate Police to actively combat all forms of illegal activity, assuring that all individuals found to be involved will face the full force of the law.
