Jalandhar DC, CP warn of strict action if found violating Curfew

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today reviewed the law and order situation in the city during their visit in the almost entire city on Tuesday.

In order to take stock of the law and order situation in the city, the a Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police accompanied by top officers of the civil and Police administration inspected almost the entire city.

Amidst rain the officers covered the city in two hours during which they briefed the officers about the necessary steps to be taken for strict enforcement of curfew. They said that curfew has been imposed to check the spread of Corona virus in the district and it should be implemented in right letter and spirit.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police inspected BMC Chowk, New Jawahar Nagar, Model Town, Guru Amardass Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Sri Ram Chowk, Luv Kush (Milap) Chowk, Shashtri Chowk, Madan Flour Mill Chowk, Partap Bagh, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Panj Peer Chowk, Adda Hoshiarpur Chowk, Mai Heeran Gate, Patel Chowk, Workshop Chowk, Vegetable and Fruits Market Maqsoodan and back to Jail Chowk, Bhagwan Valmiki (Jyoti) Chowk, Dr BR Ambedkar (Nakodar) Chowk and others. The officers inspected the vulnerable areas of the city and directed the officers to ensure that the curfew was strictly imposed in city. They said that no one would be allowed to take law into their hands at any cost.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police also asked the officers to take strict action against the people violating the rules especially outside Dilkusha market and Fruits and Vegetable market Maqsoodan. They asked the officers to ensure severest of severe action against those people who were unnecessarily roaming in the city. They also asked the officers to make sure that Dilkusha Market and Fruits and Vegetable markets remain decongested.

On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Vishesh Sarangal, Deputy Commissioners of Police Mr Gurmeet Singh, Mr Naresh Dogra and Mr Arun Saini, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ms D Sudharvizhi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr Rahul Sindhu and Dr Jai Inder Singh besides others were also present.
