HC notice to Punjab Minister Singla for ‘illegal construction’ in Sangrur a disgrace for Amarinder govt.: AAP

Sangrur / Chandigarh, January 25, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab, castigating the Congress party MLA from Sangrur and Cabinet Minister Vijay Inder Singla, for his alleged role in the raising of an illegal shopping mall in the vicinity of residential area in Sangrur city under his influence, saying the act spoke volumes of the highhandedness on the part of the minister.

In a joint statement issued from party headquarters on Saturday, state unit president of the party and parliamentarian Bhagwant Mann, Leader of Opposition, Harpal Singh Cheema, Meet Hayer, Kulwant Singh Pandori (All MLAs) and district president Rajwant Singh Ghulli said that the minister had been indulging in the misuse of power for petty personal ends to appease his acolytes.

They said that the notice issued by the High Court against Vijayinder Singla had earned disgrace not only for himself but also for the Government in the saddle.

The AAP leaders alleged that the 87-year-old Harbinder Singh Sekhon and others had to move the Court against the minister for bullying the locals, directly or indirectly, to allow construction of shopping malls in the residential area in violation of master plan. The AAP leaders said that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh should not take the conduct of his cabinet colleague lying down and pull up the power drunk minister.

The AAP leaders accused the Chief Minister of having ignored the serious allegations against him (The minister) of misbehaving with a large number of qualified teachers fighting for their legitimate rights and hurling off-putting language against them, including female teachers, publicly, giving him a free hand to go his way in the present case as well.

The AAP leaders warned Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh that if he (Chief Minister) failed to act against the minister to mend his ways, people of the state, especially those from Sangrur, would teach him a lesson.
