Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday mourned the sad demise of former state Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh (64).
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister described the 1978 batch Punjab cadre IAS officer Rakesh Singh as an able administrator, distinguished civil servant and gentleman bureaucrat with the qualities of head and heart, who served the state besides Union Territory of Chandigarh Administration and Government of India on deputation in different capacities with utmost dedication and professional commitment.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, relatives and friends, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give them courage to bear the huge loss and to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
