Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has taken strict action against a Kanoongo, Varinder Kumar, who was recently promoted from the post of Patwari. The Deputy Commissioner has also withdrawn charge of Shahkot Sub Registrar from Kannongo Varinder Kumar. The action followed a complaint alleging gross misconduct or irregularities by the official.
Divulging details, Dr. Aggarwal stated that Tehsil Shahkot has been designated as Varinder Kumar’s headquarters during his suspension period. He further informed that an inquiry has been initiated to investigate the allegations.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that the Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is determined to root out corruption. He stated that such unethical practices among government officials are unacceptable and reaffirmed that the Jalandhar administration is dedicated to ensuring free, fair, and transparent governance.
Encouraging public participation in tackling corruption, Dr. Aggarwal urged citizens to report corrupt activities to the district administration, assuring that strict action will be taken against offenders. The suspension serves as a strong warning to erring officials engaging in corrupt malpractices, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to integrity and public welfare.
