Channi, Randhawa, DGP had a secret meeting at Delhi Airport to implicate Majithia in false case, Sidhu part of conspiracy: Akali Dal

Chandigarh, December 5, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said after trying to frame SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal in a false case, the Punjab Congress had now hatched a conspiracy to register a false drugs case against former minister Bikram Singh Majithia by recording a fabricated complaint against him under Section 164 CrPc and even held a meeting at the Terminal 4 lounge of the Delhi airport yesterday to give a final shape to this plan.

Addressing a press conference here, senior leader Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said the level of the conspiracy could be understood from the fact that Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa flew to Delhi in the State helicopter along with Congress mla Kulbir Zira, DGP IPS Sahota, Vigilance head Harpreet Singh Sidhu and Bureau of Investigations head SK Asthana. “They were met at the lounge of the T-4 terminal by chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi who carried the directions of the Congress high command with him”.

Daljit CheemaDr Cheema said the Punjab Congress was bent upon framing Bikram Majithia in a false case and arresting him. “Even the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as well as Pradesh Congress President Navjot Sidhu, who had even threatened to sit on a fast unto death if the arrest was not made, were part of this conspiracy.

Police officers are being coerced to fall in line and recent transfers in the Bureau of Investigation which has witnessed a swift change in officers from Arpit Shukla to Varinder Kumar and now S K Asthana point in this direction. The Punjab Police is also being denied a regular DGP to keep the top officers on tenterhooks and ensure they can be manipulated as per the designs of the Congress party”.

Asking the Punjab Congress to do away with the pretense of any inquiry into the drugs case, Dr Cheema said the Congress government should notify an SIT comprising of Sukhjinder Randhawa, Navjot Sidhu and Kulbir Zira and give them the power to register cases and make summary arrests. “This is what these leaders want to do by pressurizing and coercing police officers”, the Akali leader said adding the rule of law, judicial process and the constitution had been thrown to the wind in the process.

The SAD leader maintained that the Punjab Congress had become increasingly frustrated at the turn of events, especially the momentum which had been built up behind the SAD and its own failure on all fronts. “It feels only registration of cases against the SAD President and Mr Majithia can save its sinking ship.

This is why earlier a conspiracy was hatched at the annexe in the Raj Bhawan here to register a false case against Mr Sukhbir Badal after recording a false complaint under Section 164 CrPc. This conspiracy was exposed immediately by the SAD which claimed that a former party worker Rajinder Kaur Meemsa would hold a press conference to make charges against Mr Badal. A few days later Meemsa held a press conference to authenticate the statement made by the party”

Dr Cheema said the guilt of the Punjab Congress was proved by the fact that it had not refuted the expose of the SAD. He said now again a similar conspiracy has been hatched against Mr Majithia with the same purpose of implicating him in a false case.

Asserting that such vendetta politics could not intimidate the SAD in any manner, Dr Cheema said “the entire party leadership has courted arrest earlier in protest against the Congress government’s move to implicate its president in a false case. We are not afraid of arrests. We however warn the chief minister as well as senior police officers that they will be held accountable for implicating senior SAD leaders in false cases”.
