Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, under its initiative ‘DISHA – An Initiative,’ hosted a seminar at the Loharan Campus School and College aimed at raising awareness about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action. The seminar was centered around the topic, “The Adverse Effects of Air Pollution and Climate Change on Health.”
Dr. Rajiv Khurana, D.Litt. (Honoris Causa), Founder Trustee of Lung Care Foundation, Certified Management Consultant, and Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants of India, graced the occasion as the distinguished speaker, accompanied by his team.
During the seminar, Dr. Khurana highlighted the significant health challenges arising from air pollution and the rapidly changing climate. He explained how these factors are affecting human health, particularly contributing to lung-related diseases, and emphasized the importance of sustainable practices and policy measures to mitigate these impacts.
The session aimed to raise awareness among students, educators, and the general public about the urgent need to address these pressing issues.
Dr. Anup Bowry, Chairman of Innocent Hearts Group, expressed gratitude to Dr. Khurana for sharing his valuable insights and educating the students. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to promoting health and environmental awareness through ‘DISHA.’
