BJP leader Lalpura condemns abduction, forced Conversion of 2 Sikh girls in J&K

Chandigarh, June 28, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
BJP National Spokesman Iqbal Singh Lalpura has condemned the recent incident of abduction and forced conversion of two Sikh girls to Islam.

In a press release issued here, Lalpura said it was an extremely unfortunate incident. He urged Jammu and Kashmir administration to assure the safety of the minorities in the state.

The BJP stands committed with the Sikhs and does not tolerate and encourage this type of coercion, he said.

Lalpura said, “The Sikhs have always stood for the religious freedom of their faith while respecting all other religions. The girls should be retrieved and brought back to the safety of their family.”

The senior BJP leader said that he was in touch with the Lt Governor and had requested him that the minorities should not feel unsafe in Jammu and Kashmir, a state which has seen great upheaval.

Lalpura said, “The administration has to work in tandem to restore the faith of the Sikhs. We are a faith in which we practise compassion and acceptance. We do not believe in forced conversions. Our Guru’s sacrificed their lives to protect the Hindus from forced conversions by the Mughul emperor.”

Recalling a historic fact Lalpura said “ Sikhs had rescued the girls abducted by Muslims and brought them back to their families in Kashmir”
