The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab is strengthening its organizational base in Punjab with the aim of building a better and prosperous Punjab.
An impressive function was organized at Bathinda today where Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Vidhan Sabha Harpal Singh Cheema, Principal Budhram, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Singh Pandori (all MLAs) and State General Secretary Harchand Singh Bursat administered the oath of office to the newly appointed office bearers. Before the commencement of the function, rich tributes were paid to the martyrs of Kisan Andolan who laid down their lives in the battle for their survival and sustenance.
Speaking on the occasion Harpal Singh Cheema said that so far 22 state office bearers, 168 district level, 468 block level and 4500 circle level office bearers had been appointed to strengthen the party base in Punjab, under this 811 newly appointed Circle In charges were sworn in today. He said that the party had appointed a circle president among 5 villages and 5 wards and that the efforts would be made to strengthen the party by appointing more than 2 lakh more persons in the next two months.
Prof. Baljinder Kaur congratulated the new circle presidents on their appointments and expected that the duties assigned to them by the party would be performed in the best possible way to further strengthen the party.
She said that at present the future of Punjab looked hazy due to the follies committed by the Central and state governments, adding that while today the Modi government at the Centre was hell-bent on destroying the farmers and agriculture, Capt. Amarinder Singh was ‘looting’ Punjab through all kinds of mafias ruling the roost in the state. In such circumstances, she said, our responsibility increases to work united to prevent the open ‘loot’ and chart out a better future for Punjab and its people.
The sole objective of the Aam Aadmi Party is to mobilize Punjab, Punjabiyat, youth and all sections along and make it a colorful Punjab again, where prosperity reigned supreme, where farmers were not pushed into committing suicides due to heavy debts on their heads and the unemployed youth were canned by the police.
Principal Budhram on the occasion said that before the elections Capt. Amarinder Singh had pedalled a promise in the divine presence Sri Gutka Sahib – to eradicate the menace of drugs from Punjab, provide ghar-ghar-naukri and crush the sand, transport, liquor etc. mafia but he had reneged on the promises he made to the people.
The AAP leader further said that Captain Amarinder Singh who promised to provide ghar-ghar naukri was now indulging in canning the unemployed youth, including girls, adding that the sand mafia, illicit liquor mafia was mushrooming in the Chief Minister’s own district under his protective patronage.
