Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story will always remain special for Kaveri Kapur. Not just because it is her Bollywood debut, but because she sang and composed a beautiful song for the movie. The song Ek Dhaga Toda Maine from Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story is a beautiful melody about finding yourself amidst the chaos that life sometimes becomes.
It is about figuring out what life means, after life has happened. Its about pushing forward no matter what. And what adds life to the beauty of the meaning behind the song is Kaveri’s soulful voice.
Talking about how this song was made, Kaveri revealed that she had written the song when she was only 15 years-old. She had penned it as a Reminisce. But just like the song suggests, Kaveri’s life and her plans changed when she was offered Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story and it came to being included in the film’s sountrack, after a couple of changes.
Kaveri said, “This song was never meant to be a hindi song and I had no plans to include it in any movie. I composed and wrote the song when I was 15. But when the movie happened, and Kunal Kohli and producer Mohan Nadar heard it, they loved it so much that they asked me to include it.”
The song, which was in fact already recorded by A.R. Rahman and Kaveri in English, was re-worked in Hindi in just two days by lyricist Prasoon Joshi and produced by A. R. Rahman, with the original composition and singing credits going to Kaveri herself.
