Chandigarh, January 18, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Haryana Police is achieving new milestones not only by finding missing children of Haryana but also from other States. Due to Haryana Police’s effective working methods, there is now a ray of hope for families, especially those of missing children, that their loved ones will soon be reunited.

A recent example of this was witnessed when the AHTU unit from Panchkula successfully reunited 22-year-old Neha, who had been missing for the past 15 years from Wardha district, Maharashtra, with her family.

This girl, who got separated from her family at the age of 7 in Wardha district, Maharashtra, had been missing for the last 15 years. She is currently residing at Balgram, Rai, Sonepat.

Due to the diligent and sensitive efforts of the AHTU team from Panchkula, Haryana Police successfully traced her parents. DGP Shatrujeet Kapur congratulated the AHTU team on this achievement and encouraged them to continue such work in the future.

A Police Spokesperson shared that ASI Rajesh Kumar, posted in the AHTU Panchkula unit, went to the government shelter home ‘Balgram’ in Sonepat district to reunite a missing girl with her family.

During this visit, a 22-year-old girl living in the shelter approached him and pleaded, “Sir, I have been living here for the past 13 years, and I don’t know where my parents are. I miss them a lot. I have no one in this world. Please, help me find my parents.” Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke. Rajesh Kumar assured her that they would make every possible effort to find her family.

Following this, the AHTU team from Panchkula counseled the missing girl, asking her various questions to gather any clues about her family. During counseling, the girl shared that there were two lanes near her house, the language there was different, and elderly men wore a distinct type of cap.

According to the information received, Neha came to this shelter home from Panipat in 2012 when she was about 9 years old. She has been living at Balgram Rai in Sonepat for the past 13 years. Neha went missing from Panipat in 2010, and based on this information, Haryana Police started searching for her family.

Through their efforts, they found that a missing case was registered for a girl in Wardha district, Maharashtra, on 15.03.2010. After this, her family was contacted.

After completing all necessary formalities under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee, Sonepat, the girl was reunited with her family.

Praising this effort, ADGP Mamta Singh advised everyone to ensure that their children have Aadhaar cards and keep them updated. If any missing child or fake Aadhaar card information is found, people should immediately inform the police.
