Author and entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna has offered a glimpse into her preparations for Diwali, sharing photographs of herself working on a festive candle-gifting collection and revealing that her home is filled with the fragrance of mogra.
Taking to Instagram, Twinkle spoke about balancing her writing commitments with her entrepreneurial venture, describing herself as a “jack of many trades” who has also become a “candle wali”.
“Writing will always be my main gig but between deadlines, I also became a candle wali,” she wrote, giving followers a peek into her creative pursuits beyond the literary world.
Experimenting With Fragrances for Diwali
Twinkle said she had been working on her Diwali gifting collection, experimenting with fragrances, jars, labels and ribbons to get every detail right. She added humorously that she now needed her glasses to ensure everything was perfect.
Reflecting on the role fragrance plays in creating the atmosphere of a home, she said the first thing people notice when they enter a house is its scent. Describing her own home, she wrote that it “smells like a basket of mogra”, calling it one of the perks of owning a candle company.
She also invited her followers to share their ideas for the ideal Diwali candle fragrance, asking whether they would prefer champa, mogra or sandalwood.
The photographs shared by Twinkle captured candid moments of her writing and working on the candle collection, highlighting how she balances her literary work with her business interests.
From Acting to Writing and Entrepreneurship
Twinkle, who stepped away from acting to pursue other interests, established herself as an author with her debut non-fiction book, Mrs Funnybones, published in 2015.
She subsequently released The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad, a collection of short stories, further expanding her work in the literary field.
Her latest festive-season update offers a glimpse into another side of her creative life, as she prepares a candle collection for Diwali while continuing to pursue her writing.
