Chandigarh, October 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday accused the BJP-led Central government of targeting his government through central investigative agencies, alleging that the CBI raid at his camp office was part of the BJP’s preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections.

Mann said the BJP had “always pushed Punjabis aside” on issues including the farmers’ protest, Punjab’s water and Panjab University, and alleged that the party was now using central agencies against the elected Chief Minister.

He claimed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI could be misused in Punjab to defame him and the state government ahead of the elections.

“BJP has started preparing for the Punjab elections. A CBI raid was conducted at my camp office. Now ED and CBI will be misused in Punjab to defame the Punjab Government and me. Seeing the love and support I am receiving from the people, the BJP is rattled,” Mann said in a statement.

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal also criticised the CBI action, alleging that the BJP was relying on investigative agencies because it could not win Punjab through elections. He said Punjabis would respond to the action by giving the AAP more than 100 seats and returning Mann as Chief Minister.

AAP Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia described the CBI action as the BJP’s “advance party” for the elections and said it reflected “panic” rather than strength.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema alleged that the raid was an attempt to intimidate Punjabis and defame the Mann government. He said the AAP would fight the issue through legal proceedings and from the streets to Parliament.

Punjab AAP president and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora alleged that the CBI action marked the BJP’s launch of its 2027 election campaign. He said the BJP was “panicking” over the work of the Mann government and would face a strong response from voters.

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of repeatedly misusing investigative agencies during elections and said people were watching attempts to target the Punjab government.

AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj and National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda also criticised the CBI action, alleging that the BJP was attempting to replicate its Delhi election strategy in Punjab.
