The makers of Nayyi Navelli have unveiled a new song, Phata Patakha, with singer Madhubanti Bagchi describing the track as a larger-than-life number packed with humour, energy and a playful edge.
Madhubanti said recording the song was an enjoyable experience, calling it “pure, uninhibited madness” filled with humour and infectious energy.
“The creative pairing of G. V. Prakash Kumar and Vayu made this one of the most exciting tracks I’ve ever recorded. I can’t wait to see people dancing to it!” she said.
Composed and produced by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with lyrics by Vayu and vocals by Madhubanti, the high-energy track has been choreographed by Vijay Ganguly.
The song places Yami Gautam Dhar at the centre of an unexpected zombie dance party, bringing a quirky musical dimension to the fantasy world of the film.
G. V. Prakash Kumar said Phata Patakha allowed the team to experiment with an unusual musical world while capturing the eccentricity of Nayyi Navelli through a celebratory track.
He said the composition was designed around a strong hook and an energy that would stay with listeners while retaining the film’s quirky character. He also praised Vayu’s lyrics, Madhubanti’s vocals and Yami’s performance for taking the song’s energy further.
Featuring infectious beats, a catchy hook and larger-than-life choreography, Phata Patakha turns the film’s undead characters into the centre of a lively celebration.
Headlined by Yami Gautam Dhar in a never-before-seen avatar, Nayyi Navelli is billed as a fantasy family entertainer.
Directed by Balaji Mohan and written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film also stars Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, Prateek Pachori, Akshat Singh, Babita Pandey, Ajay Pal and Neeraj Singh in pivotal roles.
