Music composer duo Sachin-Jigar have reunited with Ayushmann Khurrana for the upcoming film Udta Teer, with the latest track ‘Choozay’ bringing together their Bollywood sound, Jigar’s vocals and rapper Emiway Bantai’s contemporary hip-hop style.
Talking about the collaboration, Jigar said working with Ayushmann again was exciting because of their musical journey together over the years.
“There’s always something exciting about coming back together with Ayushmann because we’ve shared a really fun musical journey over the years,” he said.
Jigar added that the team deliberately wanted to experiment with a different sound for ‘Choozay’.
“With ‘Choozay’, we wanted to do something that felt fresh and had a completely different energy. Getting to sing on it myself and collaborate with Emiway made the experience even more exciting. It’s a very different space for us, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how audiences react to it,” he said.
Composed by Sachin-Jigar, ‘Choozay’ features Jigar on vocals along with Emiway Bantai. The song marks another musical collaboration between Ayushmann and Sachin-Jigar, who previously worked together on Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. The composer duo created the film’s music, while Ayushmann lent his voice to the song ‘Maafi’.
In Udta Teer, Ayushmann plays Bilal Ahmad, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory. Sara Ali Khan stars opposite him, while Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Suhail Nayyar, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe feature in key roles.
The film is now scheduled to release in theatres on October 23 after its original October 9 release date was postponed. The makers recently unveiled a new poster announcing the revised date.
The shift in release schedule is aimed at providing the film with a clearer theatrical window and better screen availability, with the makers expecting improved footfall after films including Drishyam: The Conclusion and The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest complete their theatrical runs.
