The Punjab Government has posted IPS officer Harmanbir Singh as Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, as part of a reshuffle of senior police officers in the state.
Harmanbir Singh, a 2010-batch IPS officer from the State Police Service quota, was serving as DIG, Border Range, Amritsar.
He was also holding the additional charge of Commissioner of Police, Amritsar.
Under the latest order, Harmanbir Singh has now been posted as Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, on a regular basis, while the charge of IGP, Border Range, has been assigned to senior IPS officer Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
The Department of Home Affairs has directed the officers covered by the transfer order to join their new assignments immediately.
