Punjab Police Secure Deportation of Three Bambiha Gang Operatives from Malaysia

Chandigarh, August 19, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Punjab Police have secured the deportation of three wanted operatives allegedly linked to the Davinder Bambiha gang from Malaysia, in a major action against transnational organised crime, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Wednesday.

The deportation was secured by the Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC) of the Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence Wing, in coordination with Central agencies.

The three accused — Jaspreet Singh alias Jas Behbal, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh — were arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi after their arrival and are being brought to Punjab for further investigation.

According to DGP Yadav, the three are wanted in multiple criminal cases involving murder, extortion, offences related to explosives and an alleged conspiracy to carry out a hand-grenade attack in Ludhiana, with suspected links to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

“We remain relentless in dismantling transnational organised crime networks. No matter where the fugitives hide, we will track them down and bring them to justice,” Yadav said in a post on X.

The latest action follows the deportation last month of alleged fugitive gangster Jobanjit Singh alias Joban Billa from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), working with OFTEC and Central agencies, secured his deportation after he was detained by Indonesian authorities on July 20. He was subsequently taken into custody by Punjab Police at Mumbai airport.

Joban was wanted in several serious criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder and offences under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Arms Act.

Police said he had fled India on January 9, 2025, using a passport allegedly obtained with the fake particulars of a resident of Gorakhpur. The passport had been issued in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on March 8, 2024.

According to the police, Joban had been evading arrest while moving between several countries. He initially stayed in the United Arab Emirates before travelling to Georgia and subsequently moving to Indonesia.

The Punjab Police said its ongoing efforts to trace and bring back fugitives operating from abroad are aimed at dismantling organised criminal networks and ensuring that wanted accused face investigation and legal proceedings in India.
