To combat the evil of drug abuse, the District Administration Jalandhar has constituted 8 member ‘Nasha Chudao Committee’ aimed at raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs.
The committee will be headed by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and includes key officials such as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), SSP (Rural), District Social Security Officer, DEO (Secondary), District Sports Officer, and District Public Relations Officer.
Dr. Aggarwal stated that the committee has been established following directives from the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The committee’s primary objective will be to disseminate information about the dangers of drug use and to develop a comprehensive strategy for maximizing awareness among the public against this social evil.
The committee is expected to play a pivotal role in the district’s ongoing fight against drug abuse.
