Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal raised the issue of collusion of some Congress MPs of Punjab with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to block a CBI probe into the death of Warehousing officer Dr Gagandeep S Randhawa at the hands of then Transport minister Laljit Bhullar in parliament today.
In a statement here, the Bathinda MP said this issue was apparently not to the liking of a Punjab Congress MP who always sang to tunes of chief minister Bhagwant Mann.
“The MP protested vociferously but I reiterated my appeal to home minister Amit Shah to order a CBI probe into the case. I asserted that a large number of MPs from Punjab had demanded so in writing following a statement in this regard by the home minister and their wishes should be honoured”.
Mrs Badal also brought it to the attention of the home minister that Dr Gagandeep Randhawa’s tormentor Laljit Bhullar had committed illegalities while availing of a Food Corporation of India (FCI) funded scheme involving building of food grain storage. “This itself is reason enough to hold a CBI probe into the case as a central food agency has been defrauded by Laljit Bhullar”, she added.
