GNDU Emerges as India’s Shooting Powerhouse at Asian Shooting Championship 2026; World Record, Multiple Golds achieved

Guru Nanak Dev University has once again etched its name in the annals of sporting glory as its talented shooters delivered a stellar performance at the Asian Shooting Championship 2026 held from February 2 to 14 at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Ranges in New Delhi.

The championship proved to be a triumphant showcase of India’s shooting prowess on the continental stage, with GNDU athletes playing a pivotal role in the nation’s medal haul.

Leading the charge was Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, who clinched the gold medal in the prestigious 50m Rifle 3 Positions (3P) event with an extraordinary score that set a new world record of 362. His brilliance extended to securing both individual and team gold, inspiring pride across the country and underscoring GNDU’s growing stature as a powerhouse in shooting sports.

Other GNDU shooters shone brightly as well:
– **Adirayan Karmakar** – Gold and Silver in the 50m Rifle Prone event
– **Abhinav Shaw** – Gold in the Air Rifle Team event
– **Ashi Choksey** – Silver in the 50m 3P Rifle Team event
– **Harsh Gupta** – Gold and Silver in the 25m Standard Pistol event
** Sift Kaur ** indv.silver and team gold
