Khamanon/Fatehgarh Sahib, April 3, 2026(Yes Punjab News)
In a significant move toward providing speedy, accessible, and effective justice to the public, the newly constructed Family Court Complex at Khamanon was inaugurated today by Chief Justice Sheel Nagu of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. He was accompanied by Justice Jagmohan Bansal and District & Sessions Judge Arun Gupta.
During the ceremony, Chief Justice Sheel Nagu emphasized that the timely resolution of family disputes is of paramount importance. He stated that the new complex marks a milestone in judicial infrastructure and will ensure that hearings are both expedited and transparent.
“Continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the judicial system, and this complex is a vital part of that mission,” the Chief Justice remarked. He noted that the facility would not only reduce the case backlog but also provide essential services under one roof.
He added that the new building includes modern courtrooms, spacious and well-organized waiting halls, separate chambers for lawyers, counseling rooms, record rooms, and digital facilities.
He also informed that special arrangements have been made for women and children, such as separate waiting areas and counseling facilities. Keeping in mind the needs of persons with disabilities, ramps, lifts, and other essential amenities have also been provided.
Adequate arrangements for parking and security have also been ensured.
On this occasion, the Chief Justice and other dignitaries appreciated the Family Court Complex and said that this building will further strengthen and make the justice delivery system more people-centric. They expressed hope that the new complex will make access to justice easier and faster for the people of Khamanon and nearby areas.
Among those present on the occasion were Sh.Vijay Kumar, Principal Judge (Family Court) Fatehgarh Sahib ; Dr. Sonia Kinra, Additional District and Sessions Judge Fatehgarh Sahib, Sh. Jagbir Singh Mehndiratta, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fatehgarh Sahib, SSP Shubham Agrawal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal,SDM Charanjot Singh Walia, District Revenue Officer Karun Gupta; along with other judicial and civil administrative officials.
