Punjab Govt Now Implementing Aashirwad Scheme To Sewa Kendras: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal

Amritsar, February 3, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously taking pro-people decisions for the welfare of the poor, backward and marginalized sections. In this direction, an important step has been taken to make the Ashirwad Scheme more transparent, streamlined and people-friendly.

Giving information in this regard, MLA from Ajnala Assembly Constituency Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Punjab government has officially launched the Ashirwad online portal by jointly linking it with the Sewa Kendras. He said that now applications to avail benefits under the Ashirwad scheme can be submitted only through the Sewa Kendras, which will make the performance of the scheme more effective and accountable.

MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Punjab government is firmly committed that every rupee of government welfare schemes reaches the deserving beneficiaries with complete honesty and transparency.

He said that taking applications through Sewa Kendras will put an end to corruption, brokerage and misuse and people’s trust in the government system will be further strengthened. This initiative shows the government’s commitment towards the dignity of daughters, social security and transparent administration.

MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Ashirwad scheme is a major welfare scheme of the Punjab government. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 51,000 is provided to the daughters of Scheduled Castes, Christian community, Backward Classes and economically weaker sections and widows of all castes and widows of Scheduled Castes and divorced women at the time of marriage.

He further said that earlier the beneficiaries had to submit the applications along with the documents to the Tehsil offices of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, due to which there were delays and technical glitches in the process.

He further said that later despite making the scheme online, complaints were received regarding high fees being charged by private cyber cafes.

Dhaliwal said that keeping all these things in mind, the Punjab Government has now linked the Ashirwad portal with the Sewa Kendras. With this, the beneficiaries will be able to avail the benefits of the scheme easily and in a completely transparent manner at a low cost from their nearest Sewa Kendra.
