80 Punjabis stranded abroad repatriated, Air India flight from Dubai lands at Chandigarh Airport

Repatriating the stranded Indians abroad amid COVID-19 outbreak, an Air India flight AI 1916 carrying 153 Indians from Dubai landed at Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) at 9:15pm on Tuesday.

In much respite to the overwhelmed families, eighty Punjabis stuck abroad reached their homeland where they will undergo the mandated institutional quarantine period and thereafter go home.

Among the other passengers that landed , thirteen belong to Haryana, thirty-seven to Himachal Pradesh, two are from Uttar Pradesh, two from Uttrakhand, four from J&K and Delhi each while as many as eleven are from Chandigarh.

All have been sent to their districts under supervision of respective state government representatives where they will be quarantined as per government guidelines.
