Young Biotechnologist Sehajpreet Seeks Agri-Business Expertise from PAU

Ludhiana, Oct 21, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

An inspiring young biotechnologist Ms Sehejpreet visited the School of Business Studies (SBS) at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to seek guidance regarding registration and licensing of agri-venture, marketing issues and inputs related to unique packaging for the bakery product range.

Ms Sehejpreet is helping her mother Mrs Ravinder Kaur, founder of brand RABACO, in the preparation of healthy and home-baked food products under the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations-Technology Business Incubator (NIDHI-TBI) project, underway at PAU with the support of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The NIDHI-TBI trainee Mrs Ravinder Kaur recently visited SBS, seeking advisory services for her agri-business. After a satisfactory blueprint drafted by experts Dr Navneet Kaur and Mrs Roohi from SBS, this enthusiastic young girl Ms Sehejpreet helped her mother to transform her passion into fruitful business, hence contributing to the overall health and wellness in their communities.

While Mrs Ravinder Kaur was into production, Ms Sehejpreet along with her younger sister took care of the sales, marketing, and promotion-related activities, thus converting this venture into family business. She said, “My mom has a great passion for baking and a natural eye for food products. So I nudged her to do something about her talent. We started with an initial investment of Rs 2,000 and are growing at a good pace.”

Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, SBS, equipped her with innovative and unique packaging designs along with information related to pamphlet/flier development for advertisement.

Ms Roohi provided insights into the lapse in the previous registration process attempted by the duo, while Dr Navneet Kaur helped them to successfully register and attain a valid FSSAI license.

Dr Ramandeep Singh honored the budding agripreneur for her influential work aimed at strengthening the women empowerment and adding wings to her mother’s dreams.
