Khadim Batti, co-founder and CEO of enterprise software startup Whatfix, has died after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest, leaving India’s startup, SaaS and technology communities mourning the loss of a prominent entrepreneur.
Whatfix confirmed Batti’s death in an official statement, describing his passing as an unexpected and significant loss for the organisation. The company also appealed to the media and public to respect the privacy of his family during the difficult period.
“It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the unexpected passing of our beloved co-founder and CEO, Khadim Batti, who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest today,” the company said.
Whatfix described Batti as a visionary leader whose contribution helped shape the global enterprise SaaS sector. It said his passion, clarity and conviction influenced both the organisation and the people who worked with him.
The company said Batti’s legacy would live on through the resilient organisation and leadership team he built, adding that its leadership remained committed to carrying forward his vision and values.
Batti co-founded Whatfix with Vara Kumar Namburu in 2014. Headquartered in Bengaluru, Whatfix developed a digital adoption platform that helps enterprises improve employee engagement with software and digital tools. Under Batti’s leadership, the company expanded into international markets and established itself as a global enterprise software player.
His contribution extended beyond Whatfix. Batti served on the governing council of SaaSBoomi and was among the founding members of AIBoomi, a community focused on India’s AI-first product ecosystem.
Avinash Raghava, CEO and founding volunteer at SaaSBoomi and a key member of the AIBoomi community, expressed grief over Batti’s death, recalling him as a respected member of the SaaS and AI ecosystem who readily shared his time and experience with founders.
Raghava also remembered Batti as a close friend and generous mentor who consistently supported members of the startup community.
Batti began his entrepreneurial journey in 2010. Before founding Whatfix, he served as Delivery Head for DPI & BI Solutions at Huawei Technologies India and later co-founded SearchEnabler, where he was CEO.
With more than two decades of experience in software development, product innovation and business leadership, Batti became a recognised figure in India’s technology and enterprise software ecosystem.
He held a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bombay.
