Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Senior Punjab Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa as Chairman of the Screening Committee for upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Randhawa, recently elected as a Member of Lok Sabha from Gurdaspur in Punjab is a former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab. Randhawa is the in charge of Rajasthan Congress affairs.
Congress leaders Anto Antony and Sachin Rao have been named members of the Screening Committee.
According to the orders, General Secretaries/In-charges, PCC Presidents, CLP leaders and AICC Secretaries in charge of the state will be ex-officio members of the screening committee.
