As the election days are approaching in the state, the struggle of the employees of National Health Mission Punjab is taking an aggressive form. The employees are well aware that the government can give any other form to their demands on the pretext of the election code of conduct at any time.
On Friday, the employees are going to hold a huge rally in Amritsar, the home town of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. OP Soni. In this regard, Dr. Inderjit Singh Rana, state head of NRHM Employees Association Punjab says that this is the first such government which is neither concerned about its employees nor the health of the people of the state.
These National Health Mission employees of the Health Department have been fighting for their legitimate demands for a long time, but the ears of the state government are not even crawling.
Dr. Rana said that whenever there is a meeting of the Association representatives with the state government, with the ministers or higher officials of the state government, everyone’s statements are different. The lack of consistency in the statements of the Chief Minister, Health Minister or higher officials of the Health Department proves that the state government is not serious about resolving the demands of the employees.
Expressing their views on the same subject, the state committee members Jaswinder Kaur and Gurpreet Singh say that the massive rally to be held in Amritsar, the home town of Health Minister Mr. OP Soni, is an attempt to wake up the sleeping government. If there is any loss of any employee in this rally of tomorrow, then the entire responsibility will be of the state government.
Amarjeet Singh, Manpreet Singh, Sukhjit, Ramanpreet Kaur, Jagdev, Arun Dutt, Dr. Jitendra, etc., other members of the state committee, say that now, following the policy of “do or die”, the employees will struggle till the state government does not regularize their services or does not apply to them equal pay scale on the lines of Haryana government.
