Sirsa urges Amit Shah to order removal of names of Babur & Aurangzeb from Streets and Roads

New Delhi, December 4, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has urged Home Minister Amit Shah to order removal of names of Babur and Aurangzeb from the streets and roads of Delhi.

In a letter written to Amit Shah, Mr. Sirsa said that he should consider removing the name of Babur and Aurangzeb from the streets and roads of Delhi as both of them were tyrant rulers. He said that Babur used all forms of exploitation against people wherever he invaded. Women were raped, men were slaughtered and all forms of abuses were carried out by him.

Guru Nanak Dev ji when went to Eminabad where Babur invaded for third time in 1521, he sacked the town of Eminabad and subjected it to massacre, loot and rape and horrible scene was created which forced Guru Nanak Dev ji to utter words, ‘Eti mar pai kurlane tai ki dard na aaya.’ (Asa Mohalla 1, p-360) which means ‘When there was such slaughter and lamentation, didst not Thou, O God, feel pain?’

Mr. Sirsa said that similar was nature of Mughal Tyrant Auranzeb who was responsible for forceful religious conversion of Hindus to Islam who killed lakhs of innocent Hindus who opposed his forced conversion drives.

He said that he was also responsible for martyring Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji who refused to embrace Islam at Chandni Chowk, Delhi in 1675 and Chotte Sahibzaade were bricked alive in Fatehgarh Sahib for refusing to embrace Islam.

He further disclosed to him that Guru Gobind Singh Ji wrote to Aurangzeb in the Zafarnama “CHIHA SHUD KI CHUN BACHGAN KUSHTEH CHAR KI BAKI B-MAAND AST PECHIDA MAAR” means what happened if you have killed four children (my sons), my Khalsa still remains.

The DSGMC President said that it was general impression on why do we glorify the people who were cruel and inhumane and those who have been condemned by Great Gurus. We should glorify the people who were compassionate and kind.

He said that w should promote noble persons like Diwan Todar Mal, Moti Ram Mehra and Sher Mohammed Khan for renaming the streets and roads of Delhi against Aurangzeb so that people get the right message.

He said that Diwan Todar Mal was a wealthy Hindu merchant of Sirhind, who performed the cremation of two younger sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and their grandmother, Mata Gujari Ji. This wealthy merchant had to cover the required ground for cremation with gold coins to get the release of three bodies of Chotte Sahibzaade and Mata Gujri Ji.

Similarly Moti Ram Mehra risked his own life and managed to enter the Thanda Burj in a very dramatic manner. He served milk to Mata Gujri Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the two younger Sahibzadas (sons) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji for three nights. Later, he was sentenced to death by being squeezed in a Kohlu for helping them.

Sher Mohammed Khan, Nawab of Malerkotla, who was present in the court, lodged vehement protest against this inhumane act of ‘Bricking alive Chotte Sahibzaade’ and said it was against the tenets of the Quran and Islam.

Mr. Sirsa urged him that it is high time to rectify the mistake done in 70 years by the past governments as it hurts the sentiments of people of India when they read the name of Babur & Aurangzeb on Delhi’s streets and roads.

He said that considering sentiments of the people of this nation especially Sikhs, he humbly request him to issue the necessary instructions to Chief Minister of Delhi and NDMC for removing the names of Babur and Aurangzeb completely from Delhi’s streets and roads for which all sangat shall be thankful to him.
