Shriya Saran Says Her ‘Whole Family’ Is PM Modi’s Fan, Wishes Him ‘Many More Years’ in Public Service

Actress Shriya Saran has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he completes 25 years at the helm of a government, saying her entire family is a strong admirer of him.

Shriya, who has been receiving positive response for her performance in the recently released film Drishyam: The Conclusion, spoke to IANS and extended her wishes to PM Modi, expressing hope that he continues serving the nation for many more years.

“Meri poori family Modiji ki bhakt hai, literally. They love, love him. And I think what he has done for our country, we are very proud of him. Many more years to come for you sir,” she said.

PM Modi completed 25 years as the head of a government on October 7, marking the anniversary of his appointment as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001. He went on to become the Prime Minister of India in 2014.

During his tenure in Gujarat, Modi’s administration focused on areas including infrastructure, agriculture, industrial development and governance. At the national level, his government has emphasised economic reforms, welfare delivery, digital infrastructure, manufacturing, foreign policy and India’s global standing.

Among the major initiatives during his tenure as Prime Minister are the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), expansion of digital payments and direct benefit transfers, large-scale infrastructure development, and programmes related to housing, sanitation, electricity, healthcare and financial inclusion.

Earlier this year, Modi also became India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, surpassing the previous record associated with Jawaharlal Nehru.

Several personalities from the film industry have also congratulated Modi on completing 25 years in public office.

Tamil cinema icon Kamal Haasan shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, extending his wishes to the Prime Minister. He described 25 years in public office as a testament to the trust and love of the people.

Kamal Haasan also recalled meeting Modi after taking oath as an MP last year, saying the Prime Minister had given time to him as a first-time parliamentarian. He added that they discussed their hopes for India and their shared responsibility to build a stronger nation and a better future, irrespective of their political affiliations.
