Acclaimed singer Shaan has joined the ongoing viral 80s nostalgia trend on Instagram, but instead of using artificial intelligence to recreate old photographs, he chose to revisit the era through his own genuine throwback pictures.
Taking to his official Instagram account, Shaan shared a collection of photographs from his childhood and early years in the 1980s.
“Didn’t need AI to do the 80’s trend for me (laughing with tears emoji) [80’s trend, ChatGPT, Throwback] (sic),” he captioned the post.
The first photograph showed Shaan performing on stage with a microphone in hand. Another picture featured him sitting on a wall in a stylish outfit, sporting black sunglasses and posing confidently for the camera.
The album also included photographs from his school days. In one, Shaan was seen being honoured after securing first position, apparently for singing, with trophies displayed beside him. Another image showed him holding a trophy while flashing his trademark smile.
Shaan’s post comes amid a social media trend in which celebrities and users have been sharing AI-generated images inspired by the fashion and visual aesthetics of the 1980s.
Meanwhile, the singer recently spoke about his career and musical background during an appearance on Komal Nahta’s podcast ‘Game Changers’. Shaan revealed that he would like to explore advertising and journalism in addition to music.
He also opened up about growing up in a family with a strong musical legacy and said he considered himself the weakest link when it came to music.
“I was the weakest link to music in my family. My father was a composer and a very good singer. My grandfather, mother and sister were also good singers, so I honestly felt I was the weakest link when it came to music in my family,” Shaan said.
