The Sikh youth Bilawal Singh Sandhu, who got recruited as Lieutenant in the Indian Army paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib along with his family and thanked the Guru.
Meanwhile, on his arrival at the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) office, Bilawal Singh and his family members were honoured by SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad with Siropao (robe of honour) and a Golden Model of Sri Darbar Sahib.
SGPC Bibi Jagir Kaur congratulated the family of Bilawal Singh and said that the achievement of the Sikh youth is a source of pride for the Qaum (community).
“Sikh youths like Bilawal Singh are enhancing the pride of the Sikh Qaum from whom the youth and children should take inspiration”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
Meanwhile, Bilawal Singh’s grandfather Karnail Singh thanked the SGPC for the honour.
Bilawal Singh Sandhu, a youth from Malunangal village in Amritsar, has recently joined the Indian Army as a Lieutenant.
Bilawal’s family members said that this was possible only due to the blessings of the Guru.
On this occasion, SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, member Harjap Singh Sultanwind, assistant secretary Tejinder Singh Padda, OSDs to SGPC president Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur and Dr Sukhbir Singh, supervisor Major Singh Arjan Manga, among the family members of Bilawal Singh, Karnail Singh, Bibi Navdeep Kaur, Bibi Sargun Kaur, Rajwinder Singh Raja Ladeh, Harjinder Singh Malunangal, Gurwinder Singh and others were present.
