The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has extended the deadline for submitting suggestions regarding the qualifications, appointment, responsibilities, and retirement of the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. These suggestions can now be sent until May 20, 2025.
Providing this information, SGPC Secretary Partap Singh stated that to formulate service rules concerning the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, suggestions were initially sought from Sikh organizations, sampradas, institutions, Singh Sabhas, Sabha societies, and Sikh scholars by April 20, 2025.
He mentioned that although the SGPC has already received a large number of suggestions, it has been decided to extend the deadline until May 20, 2025, to allow for further input.
He added that along with this extension, the process of reviewing the suggestions already received and preparing a draft will also begin. Subsequently, a committee will be formed to finalize the draft. He said that as before, suggestions can be sent to the SGPC in written form, via the official email info@sgpc.net, or through WhatsApp at 77101-36200.
