For the convenience of Sangat (devotees) who visit Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, Sri Darbar Sahib to pay obeisance, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has started the work to develop Jora Ghar (shoe house) and Gathrhi Ghar (cloak house) towards the entrance on the side of Secretariat, Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
On this occasion, Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, additional head granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh, SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, general secretary Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Baba Kashmir Singh Kar Sewa Bhuriwale and other prominent personalities were present.
The Kar Sewa (voluntary service) of this shoe house has been handed over to Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale.
After the ardas to start the Kar Sewa, prominent personalities volunteered to lay the foundation stone.
Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said that a large number of devotees arrive at Sri Darbar Sahib to pay obeisance, for which a new shoe house and cloak house will soon be providing services.
On this occasion SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Sikh body has always been ready for the convenience of the Sangat and under this a new shoe house is being constructed.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that this shoe house would have the capacity to accommodate more than five thousand shoes at a time.
SGPC president hoped that the Kar Sewa Bhuriwale would deliver the shoe house to the Sangat for five months.
Meanwhile, Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale thanked the SGPC and prominent personalities for handing over the service of the shoe house. Baba Kashmir Singh appealed to the sangat to extend active cooperation during the voluntary service so that the development could be opened for the sangat as soon as possible.
On this occasion, representatives of Kar Sewa and prominent personalities were honoured with Siropaos (robes of honour) by the SGPC.
