Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes today summoned Member Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu on June 22, 2021 personally.
Disclosing this here today, the Chairperson of the Commission Mrs. Tejinder Kaur said that Commission has received a complaint from Pawan Kumar Tinnu against the viral video and news published in various newspapers in which Ravneet Bittu made unparliamenty comments.
She said Commission has decided to investigate the matter and summoned Ravneet Bittu to appear personally on June 22, 2021 at 11:30 am under section 12(2) of Punjab State Schedule Castes Commission Act-2004.
Bittu created a row while commenting on announcement of the SAD-BSP coalition in the state. The Ludhiana MP, in a video posted on the social media, had said that Akali Dal has given ‘Pavittar’ (Holy) seats to BSP. However, later, clarifying his position, Bittu said that his statement has been taken in a wrong perspective and he actually meant to say that Akali Dal which claimed to be a Panthic party has forgone Panthic seats in the process.
