Former Punjab Speaker and Sanyukt Akali Dal leader Bir Devinder Singh has sent a SOS message to Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore inviting his attention towards the health of a ETT-TET pass teacher Surinder Pal Singh, who has been protesting for the last more than 100 days.
The Akali leader has sought immediate intervention of the Governor to save the life of the protesting teacher.

Subject : SOS to Governor Punjab, to save the life of an ETT-TET pass unemployed teacher Surinder Pal Singh, who is protesting atop the mobile tower of BSNl at the height of 200 feet, for the last more than 100 days at Patiala.
Dear Sir,
May I beseech your immediate attention to save the life of an ETT-TET pass unemployed teacher Surinder Pal Singh, who is protesting atop the mobile tower of BSNl at the height of 200 feet, for the last more than 100 days at Patiala. I hope you must be aware of this horrible development as Governor of Punjab that an ETT-TET qualified teacher Surinder Pal Singh is protesting with moral force at the height of 200 feet atop the BSNL tower at Patiala for more than 100 days, against the failure of the State Government in providing him and his colleagues, a legitimate employment as per their professional qualification.
Horrifying reports appearing in the media suggest that the health of Surinder Pal Singh has already deteriorated beyond a point. Now he is reportedly on indefinite fast for the last ten days. Surinder Pal Singh is seemingly determined not to give up, till their most legitimate demands are not met or settled amicably.
The other day I along with Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Former Finance Minister and couple of other senior leaders visited the BSNL tower in question and we tried to convince Mr. Surinder Pal Singh to give up the hard-edged and incredibly complicated path of protest, he is following but he was completely devastated because of the insensitive approach of the Government towards their demands. During our telephonic conversation with him we discovered that his grudges were insurmountable and his bruised sentiments sounded intractable.
So in this kind of worrisome situation ; I am afraid the worst could happens in the next few days; And if the worst happens, it would not only be a loss of precious life of a teacher, but would also be an indelible mark of disgrace for the reputation of the ‘faceless’ Government of the Day. I feel extremely sorry to observe that the impassive and insensitive behavior of the autocratic Chief Minister Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh, atrocious thoughtlessness of the Education Minister Mr. Vijayinder Singla and insensate and clumsy demeanor of the Patiala MP Mrs. Praneet Kaur are squarely to be blamed for the worsening situation that has reached to such a disparaging pass. It is unfortunate that the pretty long sufferings of the teaching community, who happens to be at loggerhead with the Government seeking justice for quite a long time , has not burdened the sensitive nerves of the power that be, so far. It seems as if the sense of susceptibility has completely faded away from the faculties of their mind and the thinking process has been permanently switched off and The Government is in deep slumber, even on such sensitive issues.
I therefore beseech your immediate intervention in the matter as the constitutional head of the State; before it’s too late, although it’s already too late, ‘You’re Excellency’. If an English proverb is to be believed that ‘a stitch in time saves nine’, then I’m sure that your timely intervention may give some sigh of relief to the much agonized teaching community of the State.
