Music composer Sajid Khan remembered his late brother and composer Wajid Khan on his birth anniversary with an emotional musical tribute featuring singer Sunidhi Chauhan and rapper Emiway Bantai.
Sajid shared a video marking Wajid’s birthday and brought together two artistes who had shared a close musical association with the late composer. In the video, Sajid described the occasion as an “amazing day” before addressing his brother and introducing Sunidhi as someone Wajid deeply loved.
Sunidhi, who collaborated extensively with Sajid-Wajid, remembered Wajid with affection and said his presence continues to stay with her through music.
“You know I love you and I always will love you. And needless to say that you never leave my mind. He’s always there with us,” she said.
Reflecting on their musical connection, Sunidhi added that Wajid remains part of her memories whenever she performs or listens to songs created by the duo.
“Whether I am on stage, singing your songs or listening to your songs, you’re always there. So, know that we love you and we always will,” she said.
Sajid then revealed that the birthday tribute would include a special musical surprise, announcing that Wajid’s “teacher” had joined forces with rapper Emiway Bantai.
Emiway paid his own tribute, saying, “From my Bantai’s side, from everyone’s side, Wajid, we love you a lot. Happy birthday, bro.”
Sajid-Wajid were among Bollywood’s prominent music composer duos and delivered several popular soundtracks during their career. Their collaborations with Sunidhi Chauhan included songs such as “Saiya Mora Saiya” from Garv, “Pyar Karna Kisi Ne Sikhaya Nahi” from Mashooka, “Milne Ko Nahi Aaye” from Zindagi Tere Naam, “Phatte Tak Nachna” from Dolly Ki Doli and “Dhoka Dhoka” from Himmatwala.
Sunidhi also featured on “Maria Maria” from Partner, alongside Sonu Nigam and Sajid.
