SADD says Imran Khan now inscribed in Sikh hearts, urges visas on arrival at Nankana Sahib

Nankana Sahib, Nov 13, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s name is now inscribed in golden letters in Sikh history forever for his landmark move to open up Sri Kartarpur Sahib to the Sikh faithful from India, SADD chief Paramjit Singh Sarna said in his speech during the 550th Parkash Purab celebrations at Sri Nankana Sahib.

“And these are the same golden letters with which the names of Bhai Mardana, Rai Bular, Sain Mian Mir, Pir Budhu Shah, Ghani Khan and Nabi Khan are written in Sikh history. Prime Minister Imran Khan, with his great gesture, has joined the league of such Muslim figures whose sewa dedicated to Guru Sahiban is remembered for eternity,” Sardar Sarna told the Sangat at Sri Nankana Sahib.

He recounted how the SADD has been leading a campaign for an easy passage to Sri Kartarpur Sahib for almost two decades. “Prime Minister Imran Khan made this happen after assuming office just last year. Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu build the momentum for the corridor in India. Everything else then fell in line by Akal Purakh’s grace,” noted the SADD chief.

He thanked Pakistani authorities, both at the federal and provincial levels, for extending generous cooperation in the conduct of the cross-border Nagar Kirtan, which arrived in Pakistan from Delhi on October 31.

“Political adversaries back home did create hurdles. We overcame them with Akal Purakh’s blessings. We express our gratitude from the depths of our hearts to the Imran Khan administration, the provincial government of Pakistan’s Punjab and the common masses in Pakistan for their warmest reception and hospitality,” Sardar Sarna said.

He urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to go the extra mile further and extend the visa-on-arrival facility for Sikh devotees intending to visit Sri Nankana Sahib.

“Dear Prime Minister Imran Khan, you have been exceptionally generous towards the Sikhs. On behalf of the Sikh Sangat in India, I urge you to allow visas on arrival to the Nankana Sahib-bound Sikhs from India. We hope you will accept this request as well with your big heart,” the SADD chief said.
