SAD-BSP alliance all set to sweep Punjab: Harsimrat Badal

Badal, (Muktsar), February 20, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
Former union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said the SAD-BJP alliance was set to sweep the assembly elections with people voting decisively in favour of the return to an era of development, peace and communal harmony and rejecting parties which had deceived and betrayed them as well as those who were hand in glove with anti-national forces.

Talking to Media persons here, Mrs Harsimrat Badal said “people want a stable government which is connected with the people. They feel they have been cheated during the last five years with all promises made to them remaining unfulfilled. They are also perturbed by the deterioration in the law and order situation, gangster culture as well widespread corruption and rise of the sand and liquor mafias”.

Mrs Badal said similarly the people were concerned about national security. “Punjab is a border State. We also have a composite culture. We cannot allow any divisive party which supports Khalistani elements as well as ISI agents like the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) to take root in the State. The people will vote decisively against such elements as they have earlier also witnessed Mr Arvind Kejriwal courting separatists in 2017 and even staying at the residence of a radical in Moga”.

When questioned about the one chance appeal by AAP, Mrs Badal said “Punjabis gave a chance to AAP by making it the principal opposition party in Punjab. However eleven out of 20 AAP legislators joined the Congress”. She said AAP was also anti-Punjab and anti-Punjabi.

She said this had been proven by the manner in which the party government filed an affidavit in the Supreme court demanding Punjab’s river waters be given to Haryana and Delhi as well as demand for closure of four thermal plants in the State.

She said the AAP government in Delhi had also discriminated against Punjabi language by taking away the second language status bestowed on it. “The AAP government did not allow the establishment of the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur statue on its land and even dismantled the historic ‘piau’ at Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib”.
