Rs 12 crore approved for construction of overbridge on Samrala Byepass: Dr Amar Singh

The residents of around 40 villages, who were on a dharna for last 4 months demanding construction of an overbridge on Jhaar Sahib Road at Samrala Byepass, got a shot in the arm when Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh reached there and announced a grant of Rs 12 crore for the construction of an overbridge there. The residents of 40 villages were on a dharna for last 111 days demanding this overbridge.

While addressing the gathering, Dr Amar Singh said that he fully understood the demand of area residents and for the last four months, he was in talks with the concerned departments of the union government and had even held several meetings in this regard.

He said that pilgrims going towards Shri Anandpur Sahib, Chamkaur Sahib, Kiratpur Sahib and Shri Naina Devi would be benefitted.

Dr Amar Singh said that it was with the blessings of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, four sahibzada’s that he had succeeded in getting this project approved. He said that National Highways Authority of India Chairman Mr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu also helped in clearing this project.

Samrala MLA Mr Amrik Singh Dhillon said that he has always taken up issues of residents of 40 villages with Dr Amar Singh. Mr Rajewal also appreciated the efforts of Dr Amar Singh for this project.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Kaamil Boparai, Advocate Mr Jaspreet Singh Kalalmajra, Chairman Mr Ajmer Singh Purba, besides several others.
