Rape and Murder of minor Sikh girl in Hyderabad: SGPC Chief Dhami sends delegation to meet victim’s family

Amritsar, February 19, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
Taking strict notice in the case of gang-rape and murder of a minor Sikh girl in Telangana’s Hyderabad, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President has sent a delegation to Telangana to meet the victim family.

The delegation includes SGPC Sikh Mission Chhattisgarh in-charge S. Gurmeet Singh Saini, Sikh Mission Andhra Pradesh in-charge S. Dilshah Singh, and the pracharaks (preachers).

In a press statement issued from the SGPC office on Saturday, Advocate Dhami said the heinous crime that took place in Telangana has shamed humanity.

“It is very unfortunate that the Sikh girls are being targeted for the past some time but the governments have failed to prosecute accused people with exemplary punishments. Nothing can be more shameful for the country than this that a helpless and lonely girl was gang-raped and murdered”, said Advocate Dhami

SGPC President Advocate Dhami has demanded from the government that accused people should not be spared at any cost and each culprit should be identified and given exemplary punishment.

Advocate Dhami said the SGPC is standing with the victim’s family and the Sikh body is committed to prosecuting the culprits and ensuring their punishment on the basis of the report submitted by the deputed delegation after meeting the family.

Notably, a Sikh girl was gang-raped and murdered after being thrown down from the fourth floor of a building recently in Subhash Nagar, Jeedimelta, Quthbullapur area of Hyderabad in Telangana state.

SGPC President demanded immediate arrest of the accused people involved in this heinous crime against the member of a minority community.
