Ranjit Kaur still ineligible to continue as member of DSGMC despite payment of Rs.4.25 lakh penalty: Inder Mohan Singh

‘She is still an employee of DSGMC’

Delhi, Sept 5, 2023 (Yes Punjab News)
Former Member of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Mr Inder Mohan Singh appreciated the move of DSGMC member Bibi Ranjeet Kaur for depositing a penalty of Rupees 4 Lakh 25 thousand with the Government but on the other hand said that the membership of the said Bibi is still not valid.

Giving details in this regard, Mr Singh said that after declaring the membership as null and void with effect from March 11, 2017 by the District Court of Delhi in its Judgment dated January 25, 2021, the Director Gurdwara Elections, Govt. of Delhi imposed a penalty of Rupees 4 lakh 25 thousand upon Bibi Ranjeet Kaur under Section 10 of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwaras Act 1971 @ Rs. 300/- per day for illegally sitting as DSGMC member for 1416 days from March 11, 2017 to January 25, 2021.

The admission of Bibi Ranjeet Kaur on the Social Media that she had deposited the said penalty with the government itself proves that she continue to act illegally as DSGMC member and other important posts from March 2017 to January 2021.

Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that while filing nomination in the year 2021, Bibi Ranjeet Kaur again filed wrong and irrelevant documents with the Returning Officer and haphazardly procured approval of her resignation from Guru Harkrishan Public School, Loni Road knowing well that the District Court in its Order dated January 25, 2021 clearly said that she is not an employee of any School but of DSGMC.  But she has not submitted resignation with the DSGMC till date and hence she is still an employee of the DSGMC due to which she was not eligible to contest election as member of DSGMC in the year 2021.

Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that if Bibi Ranjeet Kaur was not a member of DSGMC in the year 2021, then at the time of filing nomination in the year 2021 itself, why a balance loan amount of more than 3 lakh was still required to be paid by her out of Rs. 4 lakh loan taken by her from DSGMC in the year 2019 ? Mr Inder Mohan Singh asks Bibi Ranjeet Kaur to immediate put his resignation as executive member as well as primary member of the DSGMC on moral grounds so as to avoid humiliation of being declared ineligible by any Court of law again.
