Actress Raashii Khanna has reflected on life, regrets and the choices that shape a person, describing Matt Haig’s acclaimed novel The Midnight Library as “therapy I didn’t know I needed”.
The Madras Café actress shared her thoughts on the book on Instagram, saying its themes made her reconsider how people often look back on choices they did not make and imagine that alternative lives might have been better.
Sharing pictures of herself reading the novel, Raashii wrote, “‘The Midnight Library’ by Matt Haig. This book felt like therapy I didn’t know I needed.”
“It made me think about how easily we romanticize the lives we could have lived and regret the choices we didn’t make, without ever knowing if those lives would actually have been better,” she added.
Reflecting further, the actress said life is shaped continuously by the decisions people make and suggested that the focus should be on embracing the person one is becoming rather than dwelling on imagined versions of oneself.
“We only get this one life, and we get to keep shaping it with the choices we make and maybe the point isn’t to wonder who we could have been, but to fully live the person we are becoming,” she wrote.
The images shared by Raashii show her reading The Midnight Library and posing with the book, offering a glimpse of a quiet reading moment inspired by the novel’s exploration of choices, regrets and different possibilities in life.
Raashii also frequently shares personal moments with her followers. Recently, she posted an emotional message for her brother Raunaq Khanna on Raksha Bandhan, as he was away at sea.
Sharing a video with him, she wrote, “Sometimes I love you, most times I love to fight with you. Celebrating the spirit of Rakhi alone this year, now that you’re away at sea. Happy rakshabandhan Miss you, Captain @khannaraunaq.”
