The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Working President Principal Budh Ram highly praised the Punjab Government’s Budget 2024-25 in the Assembly today and said that the growth rate of Punjab in 2023-24 has been the highest in the last 20 years.
He said that during the last two years, the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has done historic work in every sector and department. Deserved special attention was paid to the fields of education, medicine and agriculture, impressive results of which are in front of us.
In the last two years, the AAP government has set up 929 mohalla clinics in which around one crore people have been treated so far. To improve the education system, the government opened Schools of Eminence and sent school principals to Singapore for training, which has significantly improved the quality of education.
Apart from this, in two years, the services of more than 12 thousand temporary teachers were regularised and about 10 thousand new teachers were recruited.
In this budget, the government has released a historic Rs 17000 crore for education. In which Rs 3100 crore has been given for the repair of schools.
For the first time in this year’s budget, a provision has been made to install internet in schools. In the next one year, about 12 thousand schools will be connected to the internet.
He said that during the last two years, the AAP government has provided a record number of government jobs. More than 40 thousand youth got government jobs and jobs of thousands of temporary employees working in various departments were regularised.
He said that this year the fiscal deficit was the lowest in the last several years at only 3.3 percent.
Whereas in 2020-21 it was 4.25 percent. It was 5 percent in 2021-22 and 5.4 percent in 2022-23.
There has also been a record increase in excise duty this year. This year the collection has increased to Rs 10350 crore as compared to Rs 4867 crore in 2019. This was possible because the Mann government is working honestly for the people of Punjab.
Budh Ram held Congress and Akali Dal responsible for the debt of Punjab and said that the previous Congress government had left a loan of Rs 9000 crore on PSPCL which we had to repay.
At the same time, we also have to bear the burden of the Akali government’s CCL loan of Rs 31,000 crore. The governments of both the parties trapped Punjab in the debt’s burden.
He said that the Mann government has also done historic work in the field of agriculture. Canal water is being supplied to every field in Punjab.
The Mann government ensured canal water even to those places where water had not been supplied for the last 30 years.
This time too, the government has kept a fund of about Rs 2100 crore in the budget for schemes related to canal water.
The government has also started schemes for the respect and convenience of women. Earlier, poor women had to stand in queues for hours to get ration.
Now under the ‘Ghar-Ghar Ration’ scheme, the government is providing them ration at the doorsteps.
He said that the Road Safety Force is also a historic step of the government. This will save the lives of road accident victims and the number of deaths due to this will also decrease significantly.
