A state and national awardee Punjabi teacher from Government High School, Kheri Jhameri, Karamjit Singh Grewal, has achieved yet another milestone as 13 of his books have been approved by the Education Department’s selection committee for inclusion in school libraries across primary, middle, and secondary classes.
This approval not only honours Grewal’s contributions to children’s literature but also brings laurel to his school, village, and the city of Ludhiana.
His first children’s song book “Chhad Ke School Mainu Aa” had also received the Best Children’s Book Award from the Punjabi Sahit Academy. Another book “Lori” had received an award of one and cash prize of Rs 1.25 lakh from the Government of India. The “Punjabi Varnmala” video had won the first prize from the American India Foundation Trust.
Singh has also prepared around 800 audio/video works together with children. Many of his written and sung songs have received national and international level awards. He performs motivational songs in a unique style in schools, colleges, universities, and institutions. He has also received the Teacher State Award from the Punjab Government and the National Award from the Government of India.
Notable among his composed books are include Shhad Ke School Mainu Aa, Keerat De Bano Pujari, Dharti Di Pukar, Gaayie Geet Pyare Bacheyo, Boliyan Naal Varnmala, Jungle Vich Chor, Phullan Wali Copy, Jahaaj De Jhoote, Parhan Wali Dawai, Change Gun Jod Lawange, Bache Naam Chamkavan Ge, Eh Duniya Bahut Pyari Ae, Rabb Da Pakha Chalda Hai, Sone De Daane, Nanne-Munne Bachhe, Mummy Ji Main Kulfi Khani, Har Bachha Hai Anmol, Is Duniya Te Raj Karanga, and Lori.
