Chandigarh, October 15, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

At a time when the country’s unemployment level is all time high, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government has paved the way for fulfilling one lakh government jobs by approving a State Employment Plan 2020-22 for the youth of the state, said Mr. Barinder Singh Dhillon, President, Punjab Youth Congress, here today.

In a statement, he said that on completing the 3 years of governance, the Chief Minister has approved a phased and time-bound plan of providing 1 lakh govt jobs for Punjab’s youth in various departments before 2022.

Fulfilling his promise of ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ from the poll manifesto, the Punjab CM has once again proved that he is a man of his words. It is noteworthy that the state government has already provided 13.60 lakh jobs in public and private sectors in Punjab, he added.

“This move comes as a major relief for the youth of Punjab, who have lost their jobs or are on the verge of losing jobs or haven’t been able to find a job at all”, said the president, adding that today, when the Indian economy is in deep crisis and union government is doing nothing, Punjab government has announced one lakh jobs in public sector in coming year. We hail this historic decision and thankful to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for providing much needed job opportunities to the youth of Punjab, he further stated.

Along with the jobs, in the cabinet meeting, the Punjab government has decided to reserve 33 percent jobs for women, which again was a poll promise in 2017 elections. The cabinet has also passed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar post-matric scholarship for SC students to help them in getting higher studies.
