The Governor Punjab Mr Gulab Chand Kataria today paid obeisance at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo and prayed for the blessings of almighty.
After paying obeisance, Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria was honored with a siropa by Singh Sahib Baba Tek Singh Dhnaula, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, and Narindarjith Singh, Manager of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.
Earlier, he visited AIIMS Ved Kumari Mittal Patient Shelter Home. The Governor took a round of the three storey building that has 256 – bed facility.
While addressing the media he appreciated the efforts of Dwarka Dass Mittal Charitable Trust in running the home, he said that the facility serves lodging and boarding needs of the patients and their attendants visiting the AIIMS. People are served food at nominal costs.
Addressing the media persons he said that Punjab is bravely fighting against the drug menace. He added that the anti drug drive has got a shot in arm with people from all walks of life making it a community driven initiative.
Prominent among others present included Deputy Commissioner Mr Rajesh Dhiman, DIG Mr Harjit Singh, SSP Dr Jyoti Yadav Bains, SDM Bathinda Mr Balkaran Singh, Chairman Mittal group Mr Rajinder Mittal and others.
