Punjab Govt will improve health services with a budget of Rs.5000-cr: Chetan Singh Jouramajra

The Punjab Government has set aside about Rs.5000 crore in this year’s budget to provide better health care facilities to the people of the state. This was stated by Punjab Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education Minister Mr. Chetan Singh Jouramajra after his visit to Civil Hospital Tarn Taran today. During this he inspected various wards of the Civil Hospital including Maternity Ward, De-addiction Center.

He talked to the people who came for treatment and listened to their problems. Constituency MLA Tarn Taran Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal and MLA Khadur Singh Manjinder Singh Lalpura were also present on the occasion.

Talking to the media on the occasion, Punjab Health Minister Mr. Jouramajra said that in order to improve the health facilities, he was visiting all the hospitals in the state and reviewing them so that the required health facilities could be provided and treated at the hospitals. He also said that the availability of all the required medicines in all the government hospitals in the state would be ensured within a month.

Speaking on the occasion he said that Punjab government was starting the process of opening 75 Mohalla Clinics in the state on August 15, which would provide a great facility to the people for getting treatment. He said that Punjab government would bring major improvements in the health infrastructure to provide better health care facilities to the people near their homes.

He said that besides filling up the shortage of medical staff in the government hospitals of Punjab, further improvement would be made in the infrastructure. He said that 16 medical colleges would also be opened in the state for better medical education.

He also asked the officials of the health department to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the hospital and also appealed to the people not to pollute the hospitals and to pay attention to cleanliness.

Earlier on his arrival at the local rest house Tarn Taran, he was given a guard of honor by the Punjab Police contingent. Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Monish Kumar, SSP Tarn Taran Ranjit Singh Dhillon, SDM Rajnish Arora, Civil Surgeon Dr. Seema, other health department officials were also present.
